Start with the publication date
The publication date tells you when a story first appeared. It does not necessarily tell you when the event happened. Read both dates together.
Look at what an update means
An updated date means the page changed after publication. Read an update note, if one is available, to see whether the change concerns a fact, a correction or extra context.
Separate today from a future date
A story can describe something that is planned or due to start later. Look for words such as “proposed”, “expected” or “from”, and check the date they refer to.
Go back to the source
When a story links to an original announcement or official document, open that source. Check who published it, which people or places it concerns, and whether there is a newer version.
Try a three-question check
- When was this published, and when did the event happen?
- Is the statement a fact, a proposal, an opinion or an allegation?
- Can I follow the link to the original source?
A screenshot may leave out the date or context. Opening the full story is a useful next step before sharing.
पहिले प्रकाशन मिति हेर्नुहोस्
प्रकाशन मितिले समाचार वा लेख पहिलो पटक कहिले प्रकाशित भयो भन्ने बताउँछ। घटना भएको मिति भने फरक हुन सक्छ। दुवै मितिलाई सँगै हेर्नुहोस्।
अद्यावधिकको अर्थ बुझ्नुहोस्
अद्यावधिक मितिले प्रकाशनपछि पृष्ठमा परिवर्तन भएको जनाउँछ। अद्यावधिकसम्बन्धी टिप्पणी छ भने पढ्नुहोस्। परिवर्तन नयाँ तथ्य, त्रुटि सच्याइएको जानकारी वा थप सन्दर्भ हुन सक्छ।
आज र भविष्यको मिति छुट्याउनुहोस्
लेखमा पछि सुरु हुने योजना वा प्रस्तावबारे चर्चा गरिएको हुन सक्छ। “प्रस्तावित”, “अपेक्षित” वा “देखि लागू हुने” जस्ता शब्द र तिनसँग जोडिएको मिति ध्यान दिएर पढ्नुहोस्।
मूल स्रोतसम्म पुग्नुहोस्
लेखमा मूल घोषणा वा आधिकारिक कागजातको लिङ्क छ भने खोल्नुहोस्। कसले प्रकाशित गरेको हो, कसलाई वा कुन ठाउँलाई लागू हुन्छ र नयाँ संस्करण आएको छ कि छैन भनेर हेर्नुहोस्।
तीन प्रश्न सोध्नुहोस्
- यो कहिले प्रकाशित भयो र घटना कहिले भयो?
- यो तथ्य, प्रस्ताव, विचार वा आरोपमध्ये के हो?
- मूल स्रोतको लिङ्क खोल्न सकिन्छ?
स्क्रिनसटमा मिति वा आवश्यक सन्दर्भ छुटेको हुन सक्छ। साझा गर्नुअघि पूरा लेख खोल्नु उपयोगी हुन्छ।
