Community guidelines

Chautari is a place for Nepalis to exchange useful local information. Member posts are community contributions, not Nepal Digest reporting or endorsements.

• Respect people. No harassment, threats, hate speech or personal attacks.
• Give accurate details. Do not impersonate people or businesses, post scams or make unsupported allegations.
• Keep private information private. Do not share identity documents, bank details or another person’s contact information without permission.
• Post genuine rooms and jobs. State relevant costs and requirements clearly. No advance-fee recruitment schemes.
• Share only photos and text you have permission to use. Avoid duplicate posts and unrelated advertising.
• Confirm offers independently before paying or sending documents. Account email confirmation does not verify a job, landlord or business.
• New posts, edits and replies are reviewed. Moderators may reject, close or remove content and suspend posting access.
• Use “Report this post” to flag abuse or suspected scams. Reporters’ details are not displayed publicly.

Rooms and jobs expire by their closing date. Owners can close posts when filled. Important residency, legal or health questions should be checked with official or qualified sources.
